- Day to day and long-term placements available
Teaching Personnel work with several schools in the Swansea area, many of which are PRU’s. Many of these PRU’s work on a behaviour support scheme which introduces a teaching assistant to a class to particularly focus on improving behaviour with certain groups of pupils. Sometimes this requires working one-to-one or with a small group of pupils, as well as working to generally support the class.
A school in Swansea are currently looking for teaching assistants for behaviour support, one position specifically for a candidate that has experience dealing with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health challenges that lead to challenging behaviour. The ideal candidate would be Team Teach trained. You couldn’t be phased by high a tariff of behaviour and must be confident de-escalating challenging behaviour and at times using restraining techniques. Experience working as a one-to-one teaching assistant would be beneficial, as well as experience as a general teaching assistant.
Team Teach training would be advantageous, however if you do not have this training Teaching Personnel run courses during the holidays which you can enrol on to gain this qualification. Ideal applicants would have their own transport and be happy travelling around Swansea if necessary.
To apply for this position please contact Chris on 01792 473 300 or send your up to date CV to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have other teaching assistant experience and are looking for a role similar to this it is still worth sending over your CV in case we have any other vacancies better suited to your experience.
