Ideally, you will have previous experience of teaching in SEN Schools with a variety of SEN students, including those with Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties & Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties. You will need excellent differentiation methods in order to adapt to a vast range of student needs and abilities.
Additional qualifications in Team Teach, Makaton, British Sign Language and experience using PECS are desirable but NOT essential.
You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of Special Schools in either short-term or long-term roles. All applicants are subject to a DBS Disclosure check.
You will need to adopt a flexible working approach at all times as you will be working in a number of educational establishments with different pupils and staff teams. An open mind for this type of work is essential.
