Full time KS2 Teacher - Primary SEMH School - Wythenshawe, Manchester

  • Full time KS2 teacher required from September 2017
  • Manchester Primary Social, Emotional and Mental Health School
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant upon experience (£22,467 - £38,250)

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a Central Manchester Social, Emotional and Mental Health School who require a specialised KS2 Teacher on a full time basis to work within their Wythenshawe KS2 setting. This postition is due to start in September 2017 and continue on a temporary - permanent contract, meaning the Teacher will be taken on permanent after a number of school weeks.

The school is a Pupil Referral Unit for up to 36 pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2 who have either been permanently excluded from mainstream school or who are in danger of becoming so, because of social, emotional or behavioural difficulties. There are three sites based in Wythenshawe, Withington and Gorton. The setting provides part time and full time placements to pupils experiencing behavioural difficulties within their mainstream schools and aims to return pupils to mainstream placements wherever possible. Class sizes are small to allow time to focus on individual education plans and promote individual positive behaviour.

The ideal Teacher would have;

• previous experience teaching young people with social, emotional and mental health needs

• strong behaviour management skills

• have sound knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum

• have an up-to-date Team – Teach qualification

• have a DBS on the update service

The successful Teacher will have Qualified Teacher Status. They will also have a passion for promoting behavioural development in young people and must be able to act as a positive role model to the young people within this setting. You will need to be proactive, enthusiastic and have a determination to succeed.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
