Seeking LSA trained in Braille to support blind student

Job description

A modern Gravesend Secondary school that I work with is seeking Learning Support Assistants who has experience in working with Visually Impaired students/ people.

The school in question have a young blind student starting with them in September 2018 and they require two LSA's to support her on a full time basis throughout her school day.

In order to be considered for this role you must:

  • Have experience of working/ helping someone with visual impairments
  • Be able to read braille (ideally 'fluently')
  • Be available to work on a full time basis

If you have experience of providing support for people with visual impairments and feel this role is for you, please get in touch immediately! The school are a mainstream, mixed Secondary School; however you would be working with the student within the SEN department for the majority of the school day. All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
