Key Stage 3 teacher needed in SEN school in Wheatley

  • Do you have full UK QTS and teaching experience?
  • Are you looking to teach pupils with additional needs?

A specialised school in Wheatley are currently looking for a full time teacher in Key Stage 3. The post would suit either an experienced SEN teacher, or a general Secondary teacher with SEN experience. The school caters for pupils with Severe, Complex or Profound Learning Difficulties aged between 2 and 19 and many of the pupils at the school will be working across the P levels and equivalent of National Curriculum levels 1-2.

They offer small classes, typically less than 10 pupils per class, working within large teams of support staff and additional healthcare professionals. The school are looking for someone who will have a flexible approach and be able to adapt in different circumstances including the possibility of moving across teams or school sites.

The successful candidate will:

Have experience teaching pupils with SEN whether in a specialised setting or a mainstream school

Possess full UK QTS

Commit to helping each child to reach their individual potential

Have a positive outlook and share an enthusiasm for the job

Each pupil at the school has an appropriately paced and differentiated curriculum based on their own individual needs. Teaching experience is essential for this role, and a good level of fitness is required as you will be on the go throughout the school day and may be required to take part in manual handling procedures.
