This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join a successful Secondary school as a Cover Supervisor. This is an ideal role for an enthusiastic graduate and aspiring Secondary Teacher, looking to gain invaluable school based experience ahead of a PGCE or Schools Direct course.
Located in Aldershot, this Outstanding Secondary School caters for around 900 pupils. If successful, you will join the school in September and stay with them for the full academic year!

SALARY: £19,000 per annum
PERSON - COVER SUPERVISOR:
Working as a cover supervisor will require a confident graduate who has a proven track record of success. You will be an aspiring teacher, keen to gain classroom based experience ahead of a School Direct or PGCE course. To be considered for this post you must hold a 2:1 or higher degree from a leading University and will hold some child related experience. The school and leadership team welcome graduates of all subjects, with strength across the core subjects of Maths, English and Science an advantage.
JOB - COVER SUPERVISOR:
As Cover supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes when teachers are absent. You will need to display excellent behaviour management skills and will adhere to the schools policies. You will also support your desired department with administrative duties and attend departmental meetings. You will be tasked with covering lessons; delivering pre-set lesson plans, managing any behaviour issues and answering any and all questions from pupils. You will need to show confidence and initiative within the role, which will be full time and ongoing. This is an excellent preparation for teacher training as you will build so much confidence in the classroom!
SCHOOL:
The school site is located in Aldershot in Hampshire. The school is highly successful, achieving excellent results year on year. Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted , this is a school that would provide an excellent training ground for exceptional School Direct applicants. They provide fantastic training and CPD for all members of staff.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
