Second in Maths department- Wigan- Easter 2018
Teaching Personnel are working exclusively with a secondary school in the Wigan area to recruit a second in Maths department from Easter 2018;
- Second in Maths department
- Required to start from Easter 2018
- Paid in line with the successful teachers scale point and TLR2B
- Permanent contract available

Main responsibilities-
- The implementation of a suitable Mathematics syllabus;
- Develop curriculum to meet the needs of all students, including their moral, spiritual, cultural, social, intellectual and physical development;
- Develop the curriculum area in accordance with pupils' needs and statutory requirements;
- Identify and produce action plans to tackle areas of underachievement by pupils in the curriculum area;
- Be aware of the latest curriculum developments and research on learning in the curriculum area, and disseminate this, as appropriate, including leading staff training;
- Ensure a close match between the curriculum, the educational direction of the school and the continuing raising of standards;
- Ensure that the needs of the most able and those with Special Educational Needs are effectively met in the curriculum area;
- Be responsible for the development and review of detailed schemes of work consistent with the requirements of the National Curriculum including GCSE;
The school is smaller compared to most in the local area but is set to increase over the next couple of years. A recent Ofsted inspection highlighted the ambition of the Senior Leadership team and the behaviour of the pupils. It is located in Leigh which offers excellent access to the surrounding areas of Wigan, Bolton, Salford and Warrington.
