Science teaching vacancy from September 2018

If so, I am working on behalf of a mainstream secondary school in Leyland, Preston who require a Teacher of Science from September 2018, on a full-time basis, until the end of the academic year. This position is due to an unexpected absence within the dept.

The successful Science Teacher will be responsible for teaching all Sciences across KS3 so any specialism is required. There may be a couple of Year 10 classes but the majority of the timetable will be teaching KS3. The school is an average sized secondary school located close to the M6 and M61 with easily accessible transport links and on site parking.

Behaviour of some of the students at the school can be challenging, therefore the school are seeking a Science Teacher with strong behaviour management skills and the ability to plan and deliver highly engaging lessons for students.

To be considered for this role, you MUST have:

- Valid UK PGCE (ideally with QTS)

- Recent experience of teaching KS3 Science

- The ability to plan and deliver engaging Science lessons

- The commitment to a long term teaching opportunity

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
