Science Teaching maternity Tameside, February start

Science teacher needed for Tameside Secondary to commence a maternity cover starting from February half term to December 2019 initially.

The school are looking for an exceptional Science teacher who can add an enthusiastic approach to the department with fresh ideas and teaching strategies. The Science teaching post is full time with a specialism in Chemistry or Physics desired. The incoming Science teacher will be expected to take on full responsibilities of planning and marking throughout the post as well as attending parents evenings and department meetings.

This traditional mixed comprehensive school has around 800 students on roll and has high levels of students eligible for free school meals at 31%. Academically the school currently achieves in line with averages for the borough of Tameside but falls just short of national averages. The school was recently graded as requires improvement but has highlighted strengths in the areas of leadership and management.

Located in the SK15 post code of Tameside with a train station direct to Manchester Piccadilly with the school around a 10 minute walk away. For those with their own transport the school can be located just off the M67 motorway, centrally situated in Tameside.

To be eligible for this Science teaching post you will need to have qualified teacher status, suitable references, experience teaching in a UK secondary school and have eligibility for a fully enhanced DBS certificate.
