Teacher of Science - NG813

Are you interested in working alongside a forward-thinking and highly driven Science team? If so we are looking for a Science teacher with great potential, drive and enthusiasm.

We are currently working on behalf of 'Good ' school in the NG8 area of Nottingham. "The school is a highly inclusive environment where everyone is valued as an individual." Stated by Ofsted in their most recent visit in 2017.

We are looking to appoint a Science teacher to join our team of subject specialists. We offer both Combined and Triple Science at KS4. We want to appoint a creative and forward thinking practitioner who understands the challenges and rewards of working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

We place a strong emphasis on supporting and developing all staff. We run a comprehensive Continued Professional Learning (CPL) package including the opportunity to attend external teaching and leadership programmes, and offer fast track pay progression and career development for outstanding teachers.

Responsibilities:

  • Could involve a lead teacher TLR
  • Providing the opportunity for achievement for all pupils within school
  • Planning and preparing engaging tasks which challenge pupils and ensure high levels of interest during lessons
  • Address underachievement
  • Report the progress and attainment of all pupils within allocated classes
  • Design appropriate homework tasks
  • To mark work and give appropriate and constructive feedback
  • Manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour
  • Communicate with parents and carers over pupils' progress and participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole school training events
  • Continuing professional development (CPD)
  • Participate in continuous professional development designed to enhance the quality of teaching or other working practices.
