Science Teacher - Trafford

Are you a qualified Science teacher looking for your next role from September?

Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with one of our partner schools based in Trafford who are seeking a Science teacher to start from September 2019. This is an exciting opportunity to join a hard working and dedicated department within a vibrant and popular secondary school.

  • Full time Teacher of Science post from September 2019
  • Teaching all three disciplines of Science up to GSCE level
  • Pay in line with MPS and UPS (£23,720-£39,406)
  • Initial one year placement

Our partner secondary school located in the Stretford area of Trafford is smaller than average with over 850 students in attendance and is currently oversubscribed and popular in the local area. The building recently underwent a modern refurbishment and is located close to local bus routes and a local tram stop. With a positive Progress 8 score of 0.11, which is in line with national average, it is clear that students make good progress throughout their time at the school.

"We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Science to teach across the school to GCSE level. We are looking for candidates with a passion for their chosen subject and the ability to deliver an innovative curriculum at key stages 3 and 4." Headteacher.

As a Science teacher at our client school, the successful candidate will teach all three disciplines of Science to both KS3 and KS4 as part of a collaborative and hard working department. Experience of teaching GCSE science previously is highly advantageous, although Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) are encouraged to apply.

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • evidence of good quality teaching and subject knowledge
  • a commitment to high standards and outcomes
  • an understanding of how to use assessment to inform planning for excellent teaching and learning
  • the ability to differentiate materials to meet the needs of the learners
  • evidence of good classroom management skills
  • the ability to work with the needs of the students and parents in our culturally diverse community
  • a willingness to contribute to enrichment activities
  • the ability to organise and prioritise your own workload whilst working alone, and as part of a team
  • a confident and competent approach to the use of ICT to engage students in their learning
