Job description

Due to a gap in the Science department our client secondary school is currently seeking a teacher of Science to join their faculty on a full time basis. This position is from Easter until the end of the academic year with the potential to start earlier.

This is a mixed 11-16 comprehensive secondary school located in the North of Manchester City centre, the school is situated close to the M62 and is easily accessible via the surrounding areas Bury, Rochdale and Salford.

Based in North Manchester, our client school is a large secondary which was newly built in recent years to serve the local community. The school was previously on separate sites, but merged into a purpose built state of the art site a few years ago, with a focus on teaching and learning in its design to serve the diverse catchment area and allow students to fully access the curriculum. The Head teacher and management have reinstated the importance of high teaching standards, having a positive impact on student's behaviour and attainment.

The incoming Science teacher will:

  • Have a UK QTS specialising in Science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
  • Have previous experience teaching Science up to GCSE
  • Deliver innovative Science lessons to increase attainment and performance
  • Use different teaching strategies to keep students engage all students
  • Liaise with the Head of Science on the overall performance of students

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
