I have a school in Sutton looking to hire strong Science teachers for a full-time position in September. The school has been highly rated by Ofsted and noted the effective leadership in place. The Senor staff understands the need for a work and life balance as they promote an ethos of hard work and dedication, but ensure this is balanced with a relaxed and enjoyable life structure. It is a friendly working environment based on support and mutual respect.

They are looking to hire a hard-working, dedicated, yet personable Science teacher who will add value to their ambitious school.

Science Teacher Required

Details about the role are below:

  • UK recognised teaching qualifications Science role (e.g. QTS, PGCE, BEd)
  • Expectation of experience working at Secondary school, KS3-5 level
  • The school is rated "good" by Ofsted and has ambitious and driven leadership looking to raise this rating to "outstanding"
  • Pay ranges from £150-200 a-day depending on experience and qualifications
  • Full-time role: 5 days a week, 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • It would be a temporary contract (2 terms - 1 year)
  • Less than a 12 minute walk from Carshalton station

The Role

This role is a brilliant opportunity for an ambitious science teacher who would welcome the opportunity for additional responsibility. They would need experience working in a secondary school teaching Biology, Chemistry or Physics. The high standards set for the students is expected to originate from every individual staff member. This stems from a hard working and driven attitude balanced with time to relax and enjoy life outside working hours. The leadership understand the need for a healthy and relaxed teacher in their school. The successful candidate is expected to work hard during school hours, ensuring all work is completed and to the best the of the candidates ability.

This role has a September start date with interviews starting next week and continuing the following week. Although the roles do not start till September, this school would like to fill the vacancies ASAP. If you are interested in this role please apply to this ad. The incoming teacher would be expected to work 8:30am till 3:30pm, 5 days a week as a full-time role. The school are searching for candidates who can engage the students with exciting lessons and an aim to get students interested in learning. Planning and conducting lessons would be expected, along with marking students work and providing feedback for them to build on. Experience working with SEN, languages or extra-curricular activities would be beneficial.

The School

The school has fantastic facilities for both learning and for sporting activities. Staff emphasise the importance for extra-curricular activities and exercise for children and young adults. The Science facilities are 'top of the range' as the school was a Science specialist Grammar school.

Ofsted has rated the school as "good" and the new Head has instilled a cohesive and driven leadership, who are looking to push onto an "excellent" rating. They are looking for candidates who share their ambition and can help the school continue on its upward trend. Ofsted stated:

"An excellent range of enrichment opportunities contribute strongly to pupils' all-round development."

Location

The school is accessible via Carshalton station and is less than a 15 minute walk.
