Job description

A Secondary SEMH provision in North Manchester are currently recruiting for a specialist Science Teacher to teach pupils in KS3 and KS4. This particular school caters for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and therefore need a Teacher who is understanding and able to adapt lessons to suit these pupil's needs. This is an OFSTED 'good' school that is able to support the teacher with their professional development. The school are happy to take a subject specialist Teacher with strong behaviour management that has not had experience in a special school before.

The ideal Teacher will have;

  • Science specialism (Chemistry, Biology or Physics)
  • Experience of Teaching in line with the new curriculum and GCSE grading system
  • Knowledge of pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and ways to differentiate for these pupils
  • Experienced or NQT Science Teachers - Physics, Chemistry or Biology
  • UK QTS is ESSENTIAL, as is British curriculum teaching experience
  • A sound understanding of the eight teaching standards is required
  • Committed to achieving the very best level of education for every single student
