Full-time Science teacher required on a 12 month basis for a co-educational Secondary Academy located in Salford from January 2019.

With a member of staff set to take maternity leave after the Christmas break, this mixed comprehensive Secondary Academy wish to appoint a skilful Science teacher to join their dedicated staff team.   • Full time Science teacher required to cover a maternity leave, from January 2019.
  • Must hold QTS alongside subject specific degree level qualification or equivalent within a relevant Science.

  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23,720 - £39,406.

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Science teacher due to a restructure amongst senior staff members, which created an influx of demand across the faculty. The responsibilities for the incoming Science teacher will include;

  • To lead a full time table delivering inventive Science lessons; planning, preparing and evaluating all class work.
  • To effectively teach the National curriculum within school teaching and learning policy.
  • Ensure the development of Schemes of Work, resources, teaching and learning strategies; contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of all pupils.

The school has excellent facilities with just over 900 pupils on roll, aged 11-16. Exam results in the department have continued to improve in recent years with pupils achieving results in line with the national average. The Science department has state of the art facilities and modern resources which can be utilised within the classrooms and practical laboratories.

Located in the Swinton region of Salford, it is easily accessible via the M60/A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Wigan. There are also public transport options within close proximity to the school with links across Greater Manchester.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
