Science teacher - Part Time

Teaching Personnel are working in collaboration with a small mixed comprehensive Secondary Academy in Salford. Due to timetabling restructures, the school wish to appoint a part-time (0.6) Science teacher to join their Science faculty following the Easter break (April 2019).

This position will incorporate teaching Science to pupils across Key Stage Three and GCSE, and the days required are negotiable to suit the successful Science teachers availability.

The small mixed comprehensive Secondary Academy has recently been refurbished through the Salford Schools' Development Programme, and now has state of the art Science Laboratories along with an open experiment area for large group demonstrations. The incoming part-time Science teacher will be required to teach dynamic lessons to stretch and challenge pupils of all abilities across Key Stage Three and GCSE, with full support provided from the well-established Head of Science.

Located in central Salford, our partner Secondary Academy has approximately 700 pupils on roll making it significantly smaller than others in the area. The proportion of pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL) is higher than the national average, but in line with other local schools and there are specific areas within the school for these pupils to receive additional support.

The school can be accessed via the A580 (East Lancashire Road) and M602 motorway from central Manchester, Trafford and Bolton. For non drivers, public transportation links can be accessed from Eccles, Trafford and central Manchester to provide a direct route to the school.
