Science Teacher required for a temporary maternity cover starting in April 2021.

If you are a Science teacher who is able to work well as part of a team and engage pupils during lessons, ensuring that pupils achieve excellent results in their GCSE exams then Teaching Personnel wish to hear from you;

Due to a maternity leave within our schools faculty, our partner school in Wigan have a temporary need for a Science teacher from April 2021.

  • Full-time position with an opportunity to earn a permanent contract.
  • Competitive pay to match your scale point (MPS/UPS)
  • Required to start in April.
  • Leading a complete timetable consisting of both KS3 and GCSE Science.
  • Ofsted graded ‘Good’ secondary school in Wigan.

This position is initially temporary to cover maternity where you will be required to undertake full responsibilities within the department for planning and marking schemes of work and attending after school meetings and extra curricular activities.

Science is a popular subject within the school and students have seen excellent results in recent years at GCSE level. The Headteacher seeks to appoint a Science teacher who can stretch the learning of their pupils, helping them to exceed expectations and push the boundaries of what they can achieve in class.

Situated between Wigan and Chorley the school is just a short drive from the M6 and A577, there is also onsite staff car parking for all teaching staff working within the school.  If traveling via public transport, there are good transport links to the centre of Wigan and then surrounding areas.

The Head of school is interested and open to hiring a Science teacher of any specialist background, you will be teaching all Sciences to KS3 and your specialist subject to GCSE.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
