Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a multi-academy trust in South Yorkshire to recruit a suitable qualified Science Teacher for a large academy in Doncaster.

Due to an impending maternity leave, our partner academy requires a Science teacher to join their faculty from March 2018. The position will be for a minimum of 2 terms until at least December 2018 but could potentially be extended until Easter 2019.

  • Full time Science teacher position, March 2018 start
  • Teaching the full science curriculum to Key Stages 3 & 4
  • Full departmental responsibilities of planning and marking
  • High achieving department, with year on year growth in A*-C GCSE results over the last 4 years
  • £110 - £155 per day dependent upon experience

This position is suitable for both newly qualified and experienced Science teachers, specialising in Biology, Chemistry or Physics. The relevant support will be provided for the successful applicant including potential to complete up to 3 terms of he Science teachers NQT induction year where applicable.

This large academy is situated near to Doncaster town centre, with great access to public transportation links and the M18 motorway and new Doncaster link road. The school can also be reached via public transportation links from central Sheffield, Rotherham or Barnsley areas with ease.

In Ofsted inspections, the school have achieved a 'Good' grading and are consistently praised for the support provided from SLT across the school. There are currently slightly over 1200 pupils on roll and the successful applicant will be expected to also undertake the role of form tutor and all the associated responsibilities in addition to the role of Science teacher.
