Science Teacher – Cambridge

September 2021

Full time Science Teacher needed to fill position available at a secondary school based in Cambridge.

Our partner school in Cambridge have advised us they’re currently looking to recruit a Science Teacher on a full-time basis, initially temporary for the 2021 Autumn term but with the opportunity to become permanent in the new year.

The successful candidate work to a timetable teaching Science to years 7-11 up to and including GCSE level in this high achieving secondary school in the Cambridgeshire area. The new science teacher will join an already strong team of dedicated teachers looking to help their students achieve their potential. Successful applicants will be expected to carry out departmental responsibilities such as lesson planning, marking and taking part in staff meetings.

The school is currently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is proud to have achieved this. They are looking towards an ‘Outstanding’ rating in their next inspection and are hoping to achieve this through the high standards and expectations they place on all staff and students.

Some highlights of this position include:

  • Teaching science to classes in years 7-11 up to and including GCSE level
  • Full departmental responsibilities including lesson planning, marking and staff meeting responsibilities
  • Full time and temporary position with the option attached to become permanent in the new year
  • Modern and successful secondary school with highly supportive staff and senior leadership team
  • Wages based on Teacher Pay Scale (MPS-UPS)

To be eligible to apply for this position candidates will need Qualified Teacher Status in the UK (QTS) and/OR experience teaching science in UK secondary schools up to and including GCSE level, a fully enhanced Child Workforce DBS certificate on the update service and be able to provide suitable school-based references with no safeguarding concerns.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
