Full time position for a Science Teacher to start immediately. The position is for an Science Teacher and is initially a temporary position; however there could be the opportunity for permeant dependent on the need of the setting.
The setting is a special needs primary school in Manchester and currently has 119 pupils on enrolled. The school caters for pupils aged 11-16 and who have a wide range of needs including: social and emotional needs and mental health needs. In its most recent OFSTED inspection the school was graded as ‘outstanding’.
To apply for this position you must be a Qualified Teacher and be able to demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEMH. Ideally the Teacher will have experience of working within a special school; however this is not essential as long as they can demonstrate a genuine passion and commitment for supporting pupils with SEN.
The school are looking for a Science Teacher to deliver Chemistry, Biology and Physics. The class sizes will be small with only about 8-10 pupils in the class. The lessons will need to very interactive as the young people who attend the provision are disengaged from education.
To be considered for this position the Teacher will be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the importance of differentiation and have the ability to assure that learning is accessible to all pupils.
The ideal Teacher will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status with extensive experience with pupils with SEMH
- Work with young people with Social, Emotional and Mental health Difficulties
- A specialism in working with pupils with SEMH (desirable)
- Team Teach training (desirable)
- A commitment to supporting SEMH pupils in achieving their optimal potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
