Stockport based secondary school seeking to appoint Science teacher on temporary basis for 1 term.

The position available is full time for 1 term commencing after Easter 2021. This opportunity could become permanent in the new academic year.

The successful candidate will teach a timetable of science to students in years 7 to 11, up to and including GCSE level and so candidates must be competent in teaching GCSE science. The school prides itself on being a first-rate, thriving and successful comprehensive school, with a strong community focused and child first ethos. They like to instil an attitude of determination and respect into their students and any teachers joining must reflect these values in their teaching style and class management. The new science teacher will join a large department of 12 specialist teachers, each dedicated to their field, and will be supported in their transition into teaching at the school.

Eligibility requirements to apply for this role:

-         Qualified teacher status in the UK (QTS)

-         Experience teaching secondary school Science up to and including GCSE level

-         School based references with no safeguarding concerns

-         In date fully enhanced DBS certificate or eligibility to apply for one

The schools Progress 8 scores are in line with the national averages but the school would like to focus on improving this and the new science teacher will need a similar attitude of high standards.
