Our client secondary school in Bolton is currently looking for a Science teacher to start in January 2020. Due to a member of staff going on maternity leave after the Christmas break, the Science department is in need of a teacher to cover this absence.
- Full-time Science teaching role from January 2020 guaranteed until the end of the academic year with the possibility of continuing further.
- Teaching all three Sciences across Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Teaching a full timetable and taking on full planning and marking responsibilities.
- Pay in line with teaching scale point (GBP24,373 - GBP40,490 per annum).
In order to be considered for this role, you must have QTS and have a specific subject qualification in Science. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply for this position as all relevant induction support will be provided. Any experience with behaviour management training, or learning difficulties will be highly valued however; our client school does provide excellent behavioural support for their staff.
Our client school has a recently refurbished Science department with specific departments for Chemistry, Biology and Physics including modern laboratories, state of the art equipment and facilities to support children at lower levels of learning. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards with several of these having computers and laptops available.
Working in the Science department of our client school will involve the following roles and responsibilities:
- Assessing and evaluating students’ progress and reporting these back to senior members of staff.
- Supporting with the development of Schemes of Work in line with the National Curriculum for Science.
- Planning, preparing and delivering Science lessons to meet the needs of students at various levels of learning ability.
- Aid pupils’ attainment and provide behaviour management for students who can show challenging behaviour.
Our client school is located in Bolton and can be accessed via the M61 and A676 from surrounding areas such as Bury and Salford. For non-drivers, there are several public transportation links from the surrounding areas of Bolton including Bury, Salford and central Manchester.
