Are you a Science teacher interested in working in a 'Good' school that is well respected in the Bolton area?

If so, Teaching Personnel have a rare vacancy for a Science teacher to cover a 12 month maternity leave.

You will be required to teach both KS3 and KS4 students up to GCSE level and have experience teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

  • Science Teacher - 12 Month fixed term contract (Maternity Cover)
  • Ofsted graded Good secondary with outstanding features school located in Bolton
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS (£22,467 - £38,633)
  • Teaching both KS3 and KS4 - Preparing students for GCSE exams
  • Must Hold QTS/NQT

This mixed comprehensive secondary school is an average in size, with around 900 pupils on role. The school is rapidly improving and Ofsted have described students as having positive attitudes to learning and showing respect for each other and their teachers. The school is located on the border of Bolton and Wigan; it is located just off the M61 and is easily accessible via public transport.

All Science teachers looking for a progressive role are encouraged to apply for this position, with the timetable being able to accommodate Physics, Chemistry and Biology specialists. The Headteacher seeks to appoint a Science teacher who is able to challenge the learning of all pupils and positive impact attainment, whilst be comfortable managing behaviour in line with the schools policies. The incoming Science teacher will also be required to run small group intervention sessions throughout the year with identified learners, to help support them reach their full potential and achieve above their expected grades.

This is a great foot in the door of a well respected school with a track record of success and although it is a 12 month cover period initially the headteacher has indicated their could be the potential to gain a permanent position the following academic year, due to the school expansion and it being heavily oversubscribed.
