This open vacancy is as a result of a resignation from a current science teacher having to relocate due to personal reasons. The school did not expect to have to recruit a science teacher for a position in the next term due to staff turnover being very low at this reputable good school but they now require a teacher of science. They are willing to hold out for the ideal science teacher until October to give them time to interview and observe a lesson during the first few weeks of the new academic year.

The successful teacher of science should be able to teach Biology and Chemistry up to GCSE level as the timetable is weighted in this way with KS3 Physics being included.

  • Fully qualified Scientist required for a full time science teaching position: open vacancy
  • Supply based teaching position for half a term to 1 term with possibility to secure a school based contract for the right candidate

The school is situated in the heart of Stockport close to the M60 motorway ring road which surrounds Manchester. It is therefore very easy to access for any teachers travelling from the nearby areas of Stockport, South Manchester, Tameside and Wythenshawe. This secondary school has a great reputation within the Greater Manchester area with the school ensuring that great teaching is at the heart of everything they do. The school values innovative teaching but most importantly, teaching that engages students in all sciences.

The school is set within very pleasant surroundings and has great facilities accessible to all students and staff. The school invests in students and staff alike and the successful science teacher would benefit from working in this supportive environment with a positive culture. The school has the latest equipment with well resourced science laboratories.

Teachers that work at the school currently are happy and regularly provide feedback to SLT and the board of governors as part of their feedback system. This ethos runs throughout the school with parents encouraged to provide feedback to teachers and students likewise.

If you are a Scientist looking for your next Science teaching position then apply now with your latest up-to-date CV. The school will be conducting interviews during the first few weeks of the new academic year so successful applicants should be available during this time.
