Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a multi-academy trust in South Yorkshire to recruit a suitable qualified Science Teacher for a large academy in South Sheffield.

Due to an impending maternity leave, our partner academy requires a Science teacher to join their faculty from October 2018. The position will be for a minimum of 2 terms until at least April 2019 but could potentially be extended until June 2019.

  • Full time Science teacher position, October 2018 start
  • Teaching the full science curriculum to Key Stages 3 & 4
  • Full departmental responsibilities of planning and marking
  • High achieving department, with year on year growth in A*-C GCSE results over the last 4 years
  • £110 - £165 per day dependent upon experience

This position is suitable for both newly qualified and experienced Science teachers, specialising in Biology, Chemistry or Physics. The relevant support will be provided for the successful applicant including potential to complete up to 2 terms of the Science teachers NQT induction year where applicable.

This large academy is situated in South Sheffield, with great access to public transportation links and the M1 motorway and the link road from Chesterfield. The school can also be reached via public transportation links from central Sheffield.

In Ofsted inspections, the school have achieved a 'Good' grading and are consistently praised for the support provided from SLT across the school. There are currently slightly over 1600 pupils on roll and the successful applicant will be expected to also undertake the role of form tutor and all the associated responsibilities in addition to the role of Science teacher.
