Full time Science Teacher required for a Bolton based Secondary school from October 2018 to cover a maternity leave till the end of the academic year (July 2019).

With a permanent member of staff due to take maternity leave, this well respected Secondary school is seeking to appoint a Science Teacher to join their dedicated Science faculty after half term, with the potential to start earlier for the right candidate.

  • Full time Science Teacher Maternity Leave, October 2018 - Bolton based Secondary school.
  • Rated - 'Good with Outstanding Features' By Ofsted consistently over the last few years.
  • Must hold QTS - Newly Qualified Teachers and experienced teachers are welcome to apply for this General Science Teacher position.
  • Access to CPD training programmes through partner Secondary School for all staff.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £22, 917 - £38, 633.

The Science faculty within this Secondary school has been noted for its dynamic teaching and learning, with the use of state of the art resources in modern facilities, the incoming Science teacher can expect to join a supportive staff team, where Science is enjoyed by pupils across all year groups.

"Leaders at all levels are passionate about ensuring that every student can achieve his or her best and are diligent in their pursuit of this aim. Teaching and outcomes for pupils have rapidly improved since the previous inspection. There is a culture of high expectation among most teachers. nAll pupils receive useful feedback on how to improve their work."

The successful Science Teacher you will be expected to lead a full time table, delivering outstanding Science lessons to pupils across Key Stages 3-4, including pupils who have partaken in the option of GCSE Science, where required.

  • Plan, prepare and deliver innovative Science lessons to pupils in Key Stages 3-4.
  • Assess class work in collaboration with Senior Leadership, taking appropriate action for the advancement of all pupils at the forefront of all teaching and learning.
  • Promote a growth mind-set amongst all pupils and manage behaviour in accordance to school behaviour policies.

Based in the heart of the city of Bolton, the Secondary school has just over 700 pupils on roll, aged 11-16. Noted for the progression amongst teachers, middle leaders and all staff; there is persistent development in the management of teaching and learning within the school community.

Bolton is easily accessible via the M61 and the surrounding areas; Bury, Wigan, Salford and Chorley. Public transport links are also easily accessible, with bus and train links within close proximity.
