Science Job - St Albans

Job description

Due to maternity leave, a well regarded secondary school in Hertfordshire require a Science teacher for the remainder of this academic year, starting from February half term. This is a full time role and extra responsibilities (TLR) will be considered for the right candidate. All Science teachers are welcome to apply; any specialism considered and newly qualified teachers with full support from a dedicated mentor during your time covering the maternity.

Situated in the South of Hertfordshire, this is a larger than average secondary school serving a diverse community. The successful Science teacher applying will be joining a 'Good' school with students who are eager to learn, display excellent behaviour and make progress above the national averages. You will be required to teach your specialist Science topic to GCSE and KS3 all Sciences.

The school is loacted in St Albans; St. Albans is a city in the commuter belt north of London. Its vast centuries-old cathedral features medieval wall paintings. Nearby, Verulamium Park has ornamental lakes and the remains of the city's ancient Roman wall. Also here is the Verulamium Museum, displaying artefacts from the city's Roman past, including mosaics and the Sandridge Hoard of gold coins. A 2nd-century Roman theatre stands nearby.
