Are you a recent graduate looking for a career in the education sector; specifically secondary schools/colleges?

Do you have a degree specialism linked to any of the sciences and have relevant experience supporting, tutoring or assisting secondary aged students?

  • Multiple opportunities (full time and part time) for Science graduates to support in a large South Manchester secondary school
  • Full time support predominantly within the Science department
  • Ideal experience for a scientist looking to progress with a career in the education sector

A secondary school located in the South Manchester area is looking to recruit flexible science graduates for support positions to start with them in September/October of the new upcoming academic year. There is both a full time and part time opportunity for successful scientists to join this large mixed secondary school. The role will involve an element of general assistance as a teaching assistant but the majority of the role will be based within the thriving science department.

The successful graduates of science will be assisting with all elements of science from supporting the class teacher with practicals as well as providing intervention and specific assistance to students who require more help than their peers. There will also be the opportunity to work with students who are showing signs of higher ability, supporting them and working with them on higher level learning to stretch and challenge them.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a science graduate to gain relevant experience for a future PGCE application and network within a supportive secondary school. This role is due to continue for the remainder of the academic year until July 2021 on a fixed term contract.

  • Pay ranging between GBP1300 per month depending on experience
  • Graduates of all sciences encouraged to apply (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • Work within a highly supportive secondary school in the South Manchester area
  • Science Assistant role particularly suitable for:
    • Prospective teachers of the future
    • Science graduates of Chemistry, Biology, Physics and related science based subjects
    • Academic scientists with experience of working with secondary aged students

The school is situated in the South of Manchester close to Stockport, Wythenshawe and Parrs Wood. Given its location, it is well placed for graduates that live in Stockport, South Manchester areas such as Levenshulme, Didsbury and Withington as well as those in Trafford and Wythenshawe.

The science department at this school is currently going through a very positive spell as it has been flourishing with regards results and the environment being fostered by the Head of Science. The belief is that positive relationships from staff and an encouraging ethos within the department allows for the students to be confident and enjoy the subjects being taught.

If you are a science graduate available in September and looking for work within a secondary school then apply now for immediate consideration with your latest CV.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
