Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large RC Secondary school in the Moston area of North Manchester. The school wish to appoint a team of Science Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their Science department, on both full time and part time basis with immediate effect.

This position is perfect for all aspiring Science teachers and recent Science Graduates.

Science Graduates of all specialisms (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) are welcome to apply for this position.

  • Full time and Part time Science Graduates required
  • Covering Science lessons with pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher
  • Working with Science teachers to develop activities and intervention schemes
  • Gain invaluable experience prior to starting PGCE
  • Earn up to £300 per week

In order to improve the support available in the Science department, the school are seeking to appoint Science specialist Teaching Assistants to join the school at the earliest opportunity. All Science Graduate Teaching Assistant positions will be offered on a temporary basis, initially until the end of the academic year, with the potential to secure a fixed term position following the initial period if desired.

**It is essential that the successful Science Graduates have some experience working with children and young people and are able to provide two references during the interview process.**

With 1,300 pupils on roll, the school is larger than average and due to this; there are plans in place to expand the school grounds to incorporate open learning areas in all core subjects.

Our partner Secondary school is located in Moston and can be accessed via the M60 motorway. Neighbouring areas Oldham, Rochdale and central Manchester have accessible routes to the school. For non drivers, there are a number of bus and train routes from Manchester city centre and surrounding areas that provide a direct route to the school.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
