School Nurse - Multiple Sites across Cornwall

Teaching Personnel is an education recruitment agency working in partnership with a large multi-academy trust of special needs schools across Cornwall.

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced School Nurse to join the multi-academy trust in September 2018. The School Nurse will be responsible for providing levels of care and support appropriate to the general needs of children aged 9 - 17 within the school, all of whom have varying levels of special educational needs.

Main Roles and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

  • Establish appropriate professional relationships with the children in his / her care.
  • Ensure that all current legislation is followed in relation to the handling, recording, safekeeping, administering and disposal of medication
  • Ensure medication is appropriately prepared for young people going home.
  • Providing or contributing to oral and written assessments, reports and reviews relating to individual children.
  • Display levels of personal behaviour which will provide an appropriate model for the children in his / her care.

Person Specification:

  • Registered Nurse with up to date NMC registration (pin number to be provided)
  • Evidence of formal professional updating / revalidation if required
  • Paediatric experience (desired but not essential)

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
