We require an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team from March 2019, to support our partner primary schools in York & Selby with behaviour management across KS1 and KS2.
Your primary role will be as Behaviour Mentor to children who exhibit challenging behaviours, which will involve creating structure and guidance in accordance with school policies, but will also require you to provide social, emotional and mental health support to individual pupils.
This role is a temporary supply post, with a view to permanent Teaching Assistant positions. We have a variety of day to day, short and long term bookings available within our fantastic primary schools in York & Selby.
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant/ Behaviour Mentor who:
- is dedicated to making a difference and committed to maintaining high standards
- has classroom experience or experience supporting challenging children in an alternative setting
- is able to support the ethos and values of all our client schools
- is passionate about education
- is confident, outgoing and determined to give 100%
- can demonstrate effective behaviour management, deescalation techniques and act as a positive role model
There is no formal qualifications needed for this post, although relevant training would be beneficial.
