Job description

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who is confident working with children who can present emotional and behavioural challenges.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to make boundaries of behaviour clear in a firm and friendly manner, with a robust, professional, yet sensitive attitude.

The successful Teaching Assistant would have experience with Autism and challenging behaviours and would possess the correct behaviours in order to support and re-engage students within a Primary or Secondary classroom setting. Ideally, Teaching Assistants would have additional training such as Team Teach which advantageous however not essential. If successful you may be required to undergo a Team Teach Course. We would also welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills such as ex forces, sports coaches and youth workers.

Our ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

  • 6 months experience working with SEMH and Autism
  • Team Teach Trained or equivalent (e.g. PRICE/Studio III)
  • Able to work within a team and has a positive outlook
  • Patient and nurturing mannerism with excellent behaviour management skills
  • Experience working as a residential support worker for children would be beneficial but not essential.
