A secondary school in the Trafford area is looking to take on a Religious Studies teacher for a maternity cover. The maternity cover is due to start on Monday 4th January following the Christmas break and continue for the remainder of the academic year at least. The successfully appointed Religious Studies teacher will be expected to teach up to GCSE level being required for the duration of the academic year. There is the opportunity to progress onto a school-based contract following a term on a supply basis through Teaching Personnel. This will allow the successful Religious Studies teacher to test the school out over an extended period of time.
The school follows the AQA syllabus at KS3 and KS3. World religions are studied include Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity and Sikhism. Students that attend this secondary school in Trafford are engaged with their learning and exhibit exemplary behaviour. The school are therefore looking for a Religious Studies teacher that can teach engaging lessons across the curriculum.
Key aspects of this Religious Studies teaching position:
- Full time, maternity cover from Monday 4th January for the remainder of the academic year
- Follow the AQA syllabus at KS3 and KS4
- Pay will be dependent upon the appointed teacher’s payscale; MPS1 – MPS6 (GBP25,714 - GBP36,745 per academic year

The school is known for being supportive of all teachers with the leadership team being praised for their supportive nature. The Head of Humanities oversees the department and is particularly supportive of all teachers in the faculty with a second in department who is also a Religious Studies teacher.

If you are a more experienced teacher, please do not be put off in applying for this role as the school are simply looking for the most applicable (rather then the cheapest) teacher to fulfil this role.
This secondary school is situated in the Trafford education authority close to the M60 ring road. Any Religious Studies teachers that drive will find this school very easily accessible with the school also having plenty of parking on site in a secure car park. The school is also situated close to a major road in Trafford which is serviced regularly by local buses for those travelling via public transport.
