Religious Education teacher

Large Roman Catholic Secondary School in North Manchester have an upcoming requirement within the Humanities department for a teacher of Religious Education (RE) to join their faculty on a full time basis in the new academic year.

This position is initially being offered on a temporary basis, for one term. There will then be an opportunity for the successful Religious Education teacher to secure a permanent contract with the school following the Christmas period.

• Pay in line with teaching scale point (£22,917 - £38,633 per annum)

With over 1,300 pupils on roll at the school at present, the school is larger than average - however class sizes have been reduced to create a more intimate learning experience that caters for all abilities in EBacc subjects. The school has recently been extended to add additional classrooms and learning spaces throughout the school, and the RE faculty now has nine large classrooms, and an open learning space for interactive projects to take place.

The incoming RE teacher will be expected to demonstrate examples of good and outstanding practice, and will have the responsibility of following and implementing the school ethos and values throughout the position. CCRS is not essential but is a desired qualification for the successful RE teacher.

The school is located near to the Moston region of North Manchester, and can be easily accessed via the M60 motorway (ring-road). For non-drivers, there are public transportation links that lead directly to the school, along with a train station nearby. Neighbouring areas Oldham and central Manchester have a number of public transportation links to the school.
