Religious Education Teacher

Teaching Personnel are currently working with an Ofsted 'Good' graded Roman Catholic High School that is based within the Wigan LEA to appoint an outstanding Religious Education teacher on a full time basis from May 2019 to December 2019.

With a member of the schools teaching faculty set to go on Maternity leave from May 2019 the school now seek to appoint a Religious Education teacher with a track record of achieving excellent results at GCSE level.

  • Complete planning and marking responsibilities are included
  • Pay in line with your experience and pay scale MPS/UPS

This maternity cover is open to Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT) as well as experienced inspirational practitioners that are able to make a significant contribution to raising expectations and standards through dynamic teaching and learning.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and confident teacher who enjoys delivering high quality, creative lessons and inspiring a love of R.E.
  • Secure high standards of engagement, progress and achievement for all students.
  • Have the personality to be a supportive Form Tutor
  • Be able and willing to make a full contribution to the life of the school and be committed to extra-curricular activities.

This Catholic high school is a voluntary aided, 11-16, mixed comprehensive secondary school that falls under the trusteeship of the Archdiocese of Liverpool and is situated within the Wigan LEA. If travelling to the school via car then school is just a short drive away from the East Lancashire road, which ensures that it is easily accessible from the surrounding areas of St Helens, Warrington and Bolton. There are also direct public transport links from Wigan town centre.
