Early Years Teaching Assistant required for one form entry primary school in central Manchester

  • Experienced Early Years practitioner required
  • General support to the class teacher as well as key worker group
  • Experience delivering Phonics would be advantageous

A small primary school in central Manchester are looking to employ an experienced Early Years practitioner for a September start. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within an Early Years class and be confidant delivering pre-planned intervention for identified pupils in Literacy, Numeracy and Phonics. The school currently use the phonics framework ‘Read Write Inc’ so prior experience delivering this would also be beneficial. The Early Years department is a combination of Nursery and Reception although this role will be predominantly working within the reception class. Ideally the candidate will have experience in planning and observing children using the EYFS framework to assess.

The school is based in central Manchester and has recently been graded ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED with specific praise thrown on the Early Years department and the way the lead Teacher get’s the best out of both the pupils and the staffing team based in there. Pupils are said to make better than expected progress from their level at entry and this is continued throughout the school. Due to the location of this school there is a diverse mix of pupils from different communities but this is classed as a huge positive by the Head Teacher who says it is an integral part of the school dynamic.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
