Graduate Learning Support Assistant job in Tameside

One of our client schools in Tameside is looking to appoint a Graduate Learning Support Assistant. The role will commence after Christmas break, running until the end of the academic year. As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, it is important that the applicant is able to effectively deliver interventions to smaller groups and individuals requiring extended support. Many of these students will fall under the remit of the SEN or Inclusion Team at the school, and so will require consistent guidance. Being able to uphold school policies is vital, and the school are particularly keen to speak to those who have experience working with large groups of children. Prior experience in ensuring children keep to specific behaviour policies is also important (e.g Sports Coaches)

The school is looking for an individual with outstanding communication skills, who has a passion for looking to improve academic attainment at all times. It is expected that the applicant will be able to take on this role as well as numerous other responsibilities. These include:

Cover Supervisor – developing the applicants classroom management skills, delivering pre-set lesson plans in relation to staff absences.
Behaviour Mentor – working within the inclusion team with students who are on report, running detentions and enforcing school policy.
Subject Specific Tutor – delivering interventions within your subject specialism, preparing students for exams and internal assessments.

Train/Metrolink links also within close proximity of the school site.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
