Job description

Teaching Personnel is currently working alongside a client school in Lambeth, who are on the lookout for a Learning Support Assistant to support a 5 year old boy with Speech and Language Difficulties (SpLD).

The little boy has an EHC plan and routines in place to support him. He works with a S & L Therapist and your role would be to support and encourage these interventions and differentiate work in class. The student is bright and a pleasure to work with and in line to reach excellent academic results if given the right support.

The school offers a vast range of resources and provision, for a varied and dynamic curriculum experience. The successful candidate will work with two children who are currently experiencing learning difficulties, and very clear guidance, support and training will be offered for continuous improvement.

The role:

- Provide personalised support with academic learning and social development in the classroom.

- Implement a learning plan for the children concerned that has been created through discussion with the class teacher and the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo).

- Support the development of the children's speech and general language skills.

- Offer support to groups of children when required.

- Have a current DBS on the Update Service or be willing to get one (Full Assistance Provided).

- Be able to provide 2 references covering 6 years.
