Reception Class Learning Support Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel is currently working alongside a client school in Barnes, Richmond SW13, who are on the lookout for a part-time Learning Support Assistant to support two children with Speech and Language Difficulties (SpLD) to start in November 2018.

The Primary School is an exciting, forward-looking community school situated one mile from Richmond Park in South West London. They are fully committed to inclusion and the pupils with special educational needs reach very high standards.

The school offers a vast range of resources and provision, for a varied and dynamic curriculum experience. The successful candidate will work with two children who are currently experiencing learning difficulties, and very clear guidance, support and training will be offered for continuous improvement.

The Role:

- Provide personalised support with academic learning and social development in the classroom.

- Implement a learning plan for the children concerned that has been created through discussion with the class teacher and the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo).

- Support the development of the children's speech and general language skills.

- Offer support to groups of children when required.

To Be Successful:

- Have previous experience working in Primary Education.

- Be knowledgeable of the EYFS curriculum.

- Have previous experience working with children with SEN, including speech and language difficulties.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
