Job description

The school based on the outskirts of Southampton in Hampshire are looking to appoint a passionate, inspirational and ambitious Teacher of Food Technology to join their already expert and highly qualified team of practitioners and support staff for September 2019. The deputy head who lines manages the technology department is looking for someone who can confidently teach Food Technology to KS3 and KS4 to a high standard as well as enrich the curriculum with their own refreshing expertise, approaches to pedagogy and enthusiasm. An ability to teach another Technology subject would be advantageous although not essential.

The department is set up to welcome either an NQT or more experienced teacher and offers excellent opportunity for an ambitious teacher who is keen to progress in their career. The school has an excellent support and CPD programme ran by a well respected assistant principal. The successful candidate should be keen to develop their teaching and learning, whatever stage of their career. You must be passionate, resilient and be whiling to take risks by putting technology into real life contexts to help motivate students in the classroom and beyond. The department offers a fantastic extra curriculum programme of which you should take an active part in sharing new ideas and energy.
