Are you a recent Graduate or Masters Student with a Psychology Degree or similar?
Have you ever thought a about a career in Education?
Teaching Personnel work with a number of schools over South Wales that currently have vacancies for various support staff.
We are now looking for Teaching Assistants/Learning Support Assistants to work in mainstream schools and have found that Psychology graduates or those with similar degrees are excelling in this area.
If you have a deeper understanding of challenging behaviour and the would like the opportunity to put some of your learning in to a practical setting, the role of a Teaching Assistant can give an invaluable to test your behaviour management skills while gaining your confidence within the classroom.
As a support function within the school you will be working with pupils with challenging behaviour and supporting on a both socially and academically. In these roles you may be asked to support 1:1 with a pupil that has additional learning needs or you may be asked to work with small groups that need extra attention alongside their mainstream classes.
If you have thought of applying for a PGCE in the future or are thinking about using your degree to gain an entry into social work or youth work then the role of a Teaching Assistant will give you great experience and an insight into pupils of all ages.
Requirements for Teaching Assistant Roles:
-Previous school based experience desirable but not essential
-Two references that can be contacted
-You will be paid between £50-£60per day
-Holding a driving license is advantageous
-The ability to confidently support various situations that may arise
