Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

Job description

An 'Ofsted' outstanding special school is currently seeking to appoint a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant as soon as possible. The school currently has 97 pupils enrolled and caters for pupils with complex, medical and physical needs. Due to the specific needs of the pupils many communication methods are used throughout the setting such as: iPads, PECs, Braille and BSL. The main aim of this setting is to promote and encourage the independence of pupils, so therefore it is essential for the candidate to share this passion.

The ideal candidate needs to be flexible and willing to work with pupils of all abilities.

The ideal candidate should have experience of:

  • Moving and Handling
  • PEG feeds
  • Tracheostomies
  • Personal Care
  • School based experience is also highly desirable

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
