Psychology graduate needed for a Primary school Teaching Assistant role in the Cardiff area

Are you a psychology Graduate who is looking to take the next step in your educational journey?

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a psychology graduate a for a main stream primary school in the Cardiff area. The Head Teacher is looking for a psychology graduate for a teaching assistant role working with a number of SEN roles across the Foundation Phase and 2. This role will involve 1:1 support with children with social and emotional needs, pupils with speech and language difficulties and other special educational needs.

A successful applicant should:

  • Hold either an educational or psychology based degree
  • Have experience working with young children
  • Have a caring and understanding nature
  • Have strong communication skills

The role will be perfect for someone looking to do a PGCE course or pursue a career in educational psychology in the future. If you want more experience in a primary school working with pupils from a number of age groups and backgrounds then this is the perfect opportunity.

  • £14000 - £18000 pro rata
  • Start date - 1st October 2018

This Cardiff Primary School is graded 'GOOD' by Estyn and has excellent facilities for the staff to use including an ASC and SLCN provision. The school also has an excellent leadership team and can provide CPD training to support all candidates on their educational learning journey.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
