Job description

The Head Teacher of a specialist school in Newcastle for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH) is searching for Psychology Graduates to work within their school as Teaching Assistants. The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with pupils in Key Stage 3 and 4 with SEMH, you will come across behaviour including anxiety and ADHD.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving the lives of young people with SEND; they will be enthusiastic and have a caring nature. Experience working with SEND is desirable, however we accept candidates from a variety of backgrounds. You will be supporting pupils within lesson times across the curriculum, you will be working closely with particular students with behavioural difficulties. The ideal candidate will be confident managing challenging behaviour and have a patient and tolerant manner.

This position will commence after the Easter holidays for the duration of the summer term, there is potential for a longer term contract for the right candidate and you will have access to extensive further work opportunities through Teaching Personnel. You could be earning up to £65 per day in this role, and will have access to our unique CPD training courses, including an upcoming Team Teach course. You will be supported by a team of SEND specialist recruitment consultants who are best placed to support you throughout your role and place you onto any desired courses. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
