A school located in the South of Hampshire are looking to appoint multiple behavioural support staff for a new provision opening in September 2019. A full time position, you will be a founding member of this team providing essential support for pupils who find it difficult to cope in a main stream classroom setting.

The school are accepting applicants who meet any of the below criteria:

• Previous experience with SEMH needs
• Background in caring/youth work/sports coaching
• Graduates of Psychology
• Previous experience working with the armed forces or emergency services
• Those with experience liaising with CAMHS or children services
• Previous Teaching Assistant experience with pupils with EHCPs or SEN requirements

As a part of this team you would need to be passionate about working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, empathetic and culturally/socially aware. You would need resilience, and patience, in the face of challenging situations as well as an awareness of a variety Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs

You will play a pivotal part in providing support, guidance and intervention for young people with a variety of needs. You will see your efforts make a direct impact on and improving outcomes for these young people and their families. You will be fully supported by an experience and high performing team, and work for an organisation that is committed to your ongoing development and training.

Key aspects of this role will include:

• To mentor and build strong and successful relationships with KS3/4 children aged between 11 and 16
• Working with a small, but solid, team of teaching staff
• Permanent position starting September 2019
• Being responsible for the learning of 4-8 students as part of a team
• Build excellent rapport and trust with pupils
• Help to enhance pupils day to day life by provide regular support and encouragement
• Become an original member of a new team and establish yourself within the school
