Job description

The head of a client school based in Newport are looking for a dynamic, motivated and experienced secondary trained behaviour teacher. Successful candidates are likely to have a good working knowledge of challenging behaviour and will be a qualified teacher. The school is looking for a secondary or FE teacher for their PRU. The candidate needs to have solid understanding of the national curriculum. Moreover, needs to be a strong teacher with good behaviour management. The class sizes are 5-6 students.

Experience is a must along with QTS to apply in this position. This is a challenging role but immensely rewarding.

The ideal candidate should be:

  • A qualified and experienced Teacher, able to teach a range of subjects at KS3 and KS4
  • Team Teach Trained
  • Well organised and able to plan a structured learning environment
  • Practical, creative and inventive with a good sense of humour
  • Resilient and able work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to interact with people in a variety of ways
  • Dynamic, proactive and solutions focused
  • Able to contribute to the school's multi-disciplinary team approach
  • Able to manage and understand complex behaviours


  • Hold QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • Your CV must cover the last 6 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK
