Primary Teaching Assistant - Year 6

Are you a determined and driven graduate, who is applying for a PGCE in 2019 and are keen to build experience in a caring, supportive primary school?

Would relish the opportunity to join an exceptional Primary School group as a Year 6 Teaching Assistant for the full academic year in order to give you the best start to your career?

If you believe you could help with vital Year 6 SATs preparations, whilst also perfecting your skills prior to teacher training this could be the perfect role for you.

Primary Teaching Assistant - Year 6

  • Graduate Teaching Assistant
  • Role starting September 18
  • Warm and welcoming Primary School in Manchester
  • Full time, Long term role
  • Large 3-form entry primary - lots of support given
  • Work Monday - Friday 8.30-4pm.
  • Paid £270-£300 per week
  • Ideal role for aspiring primary teachers

Year 6 Teaching Assistant - Person specification

This school are looking for a dedicated, resilient and high achieving graduate to add to their support team. You must have a strong desire to become a teacher in the future and a willingness to learn on the job. Ideally you will have a 2:1 or above degree and some experience of working with children, not necessarily in a school based setting.

If successful you will join this exceptional Primary School for the whole academic year in a full time Year 6 teaching assistant position. You will be expected to run your own tailored intervention sessions based on reading, SPAG and Maths for SATs. You will need to be an empathetic person and be able to meet the needs of individual pupils. Working with Year 6 pupils requires dedication, resilience and motivation.

This role will give you a great insight to the trials of becoming a teacher. The school is part of a Multi Academy Trust and the training and development for all staff is exceptional.

This school is based in Poole with excellent transport links from the city centre, there is also ample parking for those who drive. The school has an Ofsted 'Good' rating and hopes to progress to outstanding in the near future. The school serves a diverse catchment area. The dedicated staff and lovely pupils make it a truly inspiring place to begin your career.
