Job description

If you are looking for a new and rewarding opportunity in a Primary school, we are currently recruiting for a school in the Bury area which is looking for specialist Teaching Assistant to assist the young learners in the classroom.
Students at the school are both male and female (age 2-11) and will have a range of needs such as ASC, SLD, PMLD and MLD.
Candidates will need to be passionate, empathetic and flexible, to be prepared to handle a range of necessities on a daily basis.
The main responsibilities of the role will include classroom support alongside the Primary Teacher, 1:1 support inside and outside the classroom, intervention and personal care if necessary. Other duties may include completing behaviour logs and break time/lunchtime monitoring.

An ideal candidate would have:

  • Team-teach trained/ experience dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder/ PECS or BSL (British sign language)
  • School based SEN experience
  • A patient and caring personality
