Primary Teacher required for SEMH School

An OFSTED 'good' school in north Manchester are seeking to appoint a qualified Primary teacher from September 2018 on a long term, potentially permanent basis.

The school are looking for a teacher who has an English specialism and potentially either Art or PE - however these side subjects are not essential.

This school caters for pupils who have social, emotional and mental health needs in KS3, however the school are looking to appoint a teacher who is Primary trained due to the routines and structure they can provide through the Primary model. Pupils are also working at a lower level than that of their mainstream peers, so a teacher with knowledge of KS2 English curriculum is ideal. The school will however consider an English Teacher who is Secondary trained and is able to adapt to lower levels.

Class sizes are small, up to 7 pupils per class with a number of support staff to assist. Classes are relatively calm, but this teacher must have strong behaviour management due to potential behaviours that can occur. Team - Teach training is essential, however Teaching Personnel can assist you with this training before September if you do not already have it. The successful teacher will have a strong understanding of social, emotional and mental health needs, any previous experience working with outside agencies would also be ideal. Pupils show respect to their teachers and support staff but their social, emotional and mental health needs mean that they can sometimes show challenging behaviours.

This school has a strong senior leadership team who run a very successful school. The school also have a strong focus on work - life balance as Teacher well-being is of great importance to them.
