Additional Support Assistant needed to work in Year 2 Class

  • Have you had experience working in Key Stage 1?
  • Do you want to lead small group interventions and work on a 1:1 basis?
  • Do you have a Level 2 or above in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent?

A faith primary school located in Burnley are looking to appoint an experienced, upbeat support practitioner to join their welcoming team. The role is to start in September 2019 and is until the end of the academic year. The position is on a temporary basis with the potential to turn into a permanent position. You would be supporting particular children during the whole class input and then you would be delivering Maths and English interventions to small groups of children who are not reaching 'Age Related Expectation'. During the afternoons you will be out of class, working on a 1:1 basis with the children reading and delivering Phonics interventions.

You would be supported by the experienced class teacher and there is already a general teaching assistant within the class therefore your role is specialised in order to provide additional support to those children who need it.

Job Type: Full time

Rate of pay: £9.50 - £11.50 per hour

Start date: 3nd September 2019

End date: 21st July 2020
